Should there be limits on how much money a political candidate can spend on an election campaign, and why?
The Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 introduced a new expenditure limit for candidate spending – the pre-candidacy expenditure limit which will apply to general election candidates from January 2010.
The pre-candidacy expenditure limit is £25,000 plus 7p for every entry in the electoral register in county constituencies and 5p in borough constituencies.
Silly live journal forgetting that it's supposed to be international again :p
